Caroline Matthews personifies creative energy. In the early days of Dos Carolinas, Caroline did most of the work herself, from designing unique guayaberas to sewing pristine pin-tucks.

With 30+ years of experience, she still does fittings for clientele and personally sees to the day-to-day operations of the workroom. Caroline is the beating heart of Dos Carolinas, and demand for her bespoke casual shirts is booming.

Long-time San Antonio resident Caroline Matthews elevated the guayabera with luxe cotton fabric options, a tailored fit, and intricate, custom designs when she started her made-to-order line, Dos Carolinas, in 1987. With a flagship store at San Antonio’s Pearl development and a studio in Houston, Matthews is putting thousands of Texas men in her designs each year.
